Slain Dallas Police Officer Graduate of Massachusetts High School

Michael Krol, one of the officers killed Thursday night, graduated from East Longmeadow High School in 1994.

East Longmeadow, MA – Michael Krol, one of five police officers killed in Dallas Thursday night, was a graduate of East Longmeadow High School.

Krol, 40, was a member of the Class of 1994, according to East Longmeadow High. The school tweeted condolences to Krol's friends and family on Friday.

According to Masslive, Krol played both football and basketball for East Longmeadow High School. Before taking a job with the Dallas Police Department, he was an officer for the Wayne County Sheriff's Office in his native Michigan from 2003 to 2007.

Krol's brother-in-law told WWLP the family relocated from Michigan to East Longmeadow for a few years while Krol's father worked for J.C. Penney.

At least two snipers opened fire on Thursday during a rally to protest the killing of two black men by police earlier this week. Five officers were killed and more were wounded. At least three suspects are in custody, including one woman, following a massive search involving hundreds of law officers.
