Wrentham's Matt Boulter is going to playing in the Division 2 College World Series for the Southern New Hampshire University baseball team Saturday. The series is being held in Cary, N.C. at the USA Baseball Training Complex.
A junior, Boulter is an infielder for the Penmen and is batting .312 with 51 RBI with 18 doubles with three triples and a homer. The former Bishop Feehan standout also has a .437 on base percentage with a .447 slugging percentage. He also also scored 40 runs and walked 48 times.
The Penmen are 42-13 on the year.
In their 4-3 win over Le Moyne College last Sunday in the regional final, Boulter played shortstop, drawing two waks.
As a sophomore, Boulter batted .338, earning NCBWA and ABCA First Team All Region Selction and was Daktronics' second team team all region pick. He also had three homers and drove in 31 RBI.
While serving as a DH as a freshman, Boulter batted .290 with two homers and 17 RBI.
In the first game in the World Series, Southern New Hampshire University will face Minnesota State-Mankato (48-10), Saturday, May 26, at 5 p.m. It is an eight-team double-elimination tournament.
