  • All books are organized by subject or author for easy browsing. Prices start at 25 cents.

22nd Annual Crop Walk

  • 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 5
  • Greenfield Presbyterian Church, 2312 Greenfield Road, Berkley
  • Berkley Crop Walk Against Hunger begins and ends at Greenfield Church and walkers can choose either a one-mile or five-mile route, with stops along the way at three participating churches.

  • "Artful,” a show of work by Metro Detroit artist Alice Frank, will be exhibited throughout May with an official opening 6-9 p.m. Friday.

Walk for Wishes benefitting Make-A-Wish

  • Detroit Zoo, 8450 W 10 Mile Road, Royal Oak
  • This non-competitive two-mile walk through the zoo will raise funds for Make-A-Wish Michigan. Walkers will enjoy a family-friendly day, refreshments and more.

Angiosarcoma Awareness 5K Road Race and Walk

  • Troy Athens High School, 4333 John R Road, Troy
  • The purpose of this race/walk is to raise awareness and money to fund Angiosarcoma research. The race was set up by Ryan Humphrey, an Athens graduate who now suffers from Angiosarcoma.

2013 Walk Like MADD

  • Oakland Mall Shopping Center, 412 W 14 Mile Road, Troy
  • This is a 5k non-competitive fundraising and awareness walk for Mothers Against Drunk Driving Michigan. Event includes fun activities, live entertainment and food.

Breathe Deep Michigan

  • 9 a.m. Saturday, May 4
  • Booth Park, North Old Woodward Avenue, Birmingham
  • This 5K (3.1 mile) untimed walk will raise money for critical lung cancer research. The course is friendly to strollers, wheelchairs and pets.
