“Furniture was turned over and damaged, china was smashed, doors were broken, and several faucets were broke, causing the rooms to flood,” Bloomfield Township Police Det. Sgt.John Weise said in a statement.

Weise said the amount of damage suggested Elliot had been in the home for a “significant amount of time.” The $50,000 damage figure is a “rough estimate,” he said.
