Cuddle Up with Jack Frost the Dog This Winter

This retriever mix is available for adoption from the Dearborn Animal Shelter.

Cuddle Up with Jack Frost the Dog This Winter

Meet Jack Frost—a dog with a wintry name who will warm your heart.

Jack is a plott hound/laborador retriever mix who is very clever and already knows basic commands. He's one year old, loves tennis balls and is very friendly.

Jack took a while to warm up to other dogs, so it'd be best if you brought your dog for introductions before you bring Jack home.

Jack Frost is ready to go home right away from the Dearborn Animal Shelter.

To learn more about Jack Frost, view his Petfinder profile here.

The adoption fee for an adult dog such as Jack Frost is $70—or 50 percent off the normal rate—through Dec. 31. The adoption special also includes a bag of dog food and a $50 voucher toward his first veterinary visit with you. Adoption fees include a basic medical exam, behavior assessment, age-appropriate vaccinations, parasite and worm check, spay or neuter, microchip ID, travel box, and pet care information.

Adopters are also eligible for pet insurance from PetFirst HealthCare at an introductory price of $5 for the first month. The price includes accident and illness coverage with any veterinarian. Adopters must register their pet within 20 days of adoption by calling 866-937-PETS, or visiting www.petfirstadoption.com.

To learn more about Jack Frost, or to see other available adoptable animals, go to the Dearborn Animal Shelter website at www.dearbornanimals.com, call the shelter at 313-943-2697 or visit their location on Greenfield Road, south of Rotunda Drive.
