Dearborn Resident Reports Ethnic Intimidation

The following information was supplied by the Dearborn Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Dearborn Resident Reports Ethnic Intimidation

A Dearborn resident reported several instances of ethnic intimidation within the past week, according to Dearborn police reports.

The man told police that around 10 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26, he found a Nazi symbol staked into the ground in the front yard of his home on the 5600 block of Horger; later that day, he found that two small Israeli flags had been taken from his front porch.

Then around 9 p.m., the man said, he was on his front porch when a grey Pontiac G6 with four women in it drove up in front of his house and the driver asked him "Who took your flags?"

The man replied that he didn't know, to which the woman retorted, "I took your flags" and reportedly gave him the finger.

On Monday at 2:30 p.m., the man was again out on his porch when four men in a black Chevy Trailblazer drove up and similarly, yelled at the man and flipped him off.

The man reported both incidents to Dearborn police Monday afternoon.
