Update, 12 p.m.: According to Dearborn Public Schools officials, all staff and students will have a full day of school on Tuesday, Jan. 29.
Monday, Jan. 28, had originally been scheduled as a half-day of school for all middle and high school students. However, class was canceled for all grade levels due to the weather.
Additionally, the district has confirmed that all Adult and Community Education classes will be canceled for Monday, Jan. 28.
The district expects to release an announcement on Monday's scheduled school abord meeting later this afternoon.
Dearborn Public Schools will be closed Monday due to a mixture of snow and ice that hit southeastern Michigan Sunday night. All school activities and events are cancelled.
Advanced Technology Academy, Dearborn Christian School, Divine Child schools, the Muslim American Youth Academy, West Village Academy, Dearborn Early Learning Center, Dearborn Academy, Riverside Academy and Sacred Heart School will also be closed.
Westwood, Crestwood and Dearborn Heights District No. 7 will also be closed—among a slew of others. More than 400 closings have been reported, according to WXYZ.
Henry Ford Community College and University of Michigan-Dearborn remained open Monday.
The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory Sunday night as several inches of snow, coupled with freezing rain, fell on southeast Michigan Sunday night and into Monday morning.
