Drunken Driver Causes Three-Car Accident in Dearborn
A 35-year-old Oak Park woman was arrested for drunken driving on New Year's Day, after causing a three-car accident in the area of Ford Road and Telegraph in Dearborn.

Police responded to the scene after receiving a 911 call about the accident around 1:07 a.m.

According to a witness, the woman's 2008 Chrysler Sebring was approaching a red light on Ford Road at high speeds, with three cars already stopped at the light in separate lanes.

The witness, who was in the far left lane, told police he saw the Sebring try to split the two cars to the left of him, striking them both. There were no injuries reported, though one of the cars wasn't drivable.

When officers approached the Sebring, they could smell intoxicants emanating from her vehicle, according to the report.

The woman told police she was coming from Triple B's Bar in Detroit and was on her way home. She also was under the impression that she was in the area of 7 Mile Road and Telegraph.

When the officers asked her how much she had to drink, she responded "A lot."

After failing several field sobriety tests, the woman was arrested for drunken driving. She refused to take a breathalyzer at the scene, but had a blood-alcohol level of .23 percent at the station, almost triple the state’s .08 percent drunken driving limit.

Her bond was set at $500 for her second offense of Operating While Intoxicated. Her license was confiscated and destroyed.
