The third Monday in January—otherwise known as Martin Luther King Jr. Day—can be a day off spent sleeping in and lounging around the house.

But for millions of Americans, it's a day spent volunteering.

Nowhere is that more true than the Dearborn area. On Monday, Jan. 21, hundreds of students take part on the MLK Day of Service at locations throughout Metro Detroit through partnership with the University of Michigan-Dearborn, Wayne State University and Henry Ford Community College. Additionally, ACCESS youth will be volunteering at the Friendship House in Hamtramck.

Will you be giving some of your time to a good cause, or did you already on Saturday—the National Day of Service declared by President Barack Obama?

Show off a job well done by posting the photos on Dearborn Patch.
