City of Farmington Hills Holds 'Peter Pan' Auditions Sept. 9

The invites both beginners and seasoned actors in grades 3 through 12 to audition for the upcoming production of “Peter Pan” on Sunday, Sept. 9 at the , 28600 W. 11 Mile in Farmington Hills.

Auditions are easy and friendly. The audition schedule is as follows:

  • Grades 3-4 12:30 p.m.-2 p.m.
  • Grades 5-7 2 p.m.-3:30 p.m.
  • Grades 8–12 and adults 3:30 p.m.-5 p.m.

Bring a recent school photo; all other materials will be supplied. No prior preparation for the audition is necessary. Audition forms are available on the City’s website,  fhgov.com, under "Cultural Arts/Youth Theatre".

“Peter Pan” is presented by the Farmington Hills Youth Theatre, in conjunction with Sky’s the Limit Productions, and auditions are open to both residents and non-residents.

Rehearsal dates and times vary from Sept. 26 to Nov. 11; leading roles requiring more rehearsals than supporting cast. Actors cast in the show need to pay a registration fee and attend a mandatory parent meeting from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sept. 24. Final show dates are Nov. 15-18.

Youth theatre participants enjoy making new friends, building confidence, and learning all about the many aspects of putting on a production. The fall production of “Wizard of Oz” enabled over 160 children, youth and adults in two casts to take part in a production that drew audiences from all over the area. In addition, the Farmington Hills Youth Theatre ensures that if someone is not cast in one production, they are automatically promised a part in the next play, giving everyone a chance to be involved.
