Downtown Farmington's signature fall event kicks off on Thursday, with events that celebrate the beginning of a new season.

1. Farmington Hills city council talks school bond.
School district officials will present information on the November bond election during the council's 6 p.m. study session. The 7:30 p.m. regular session agenda includes the transfer of a liquor license to Spartan Pastabilities, for Unbelievable Freakin' Burgers in the closed Burger King location on Orchard Lake Road. Botsford Hospital Ear, nose, and throat specialist Dr. David Seel will talk Tuesday, 6:30 p.m., about balloon sinuplasty, a procedure that can relieve symptoms and prevent reoccurrence of sinusitis in children. Call 1-877-477-Doc1 (3621), option 1, to register.

4. Scarecrows Among Us applications due Sept. 25.
