Man Suspected of Dealing Heroin in Village

police arrested a man in the Village for possession of heroin after receiving an anonymous call about him completing "hand to hand" transactions with young men in front of a sporting goods store about 10:15 p.m. July 24.

A responding officer found the man matching the description given by the anonymous caller and approached him, according to a report. The man began walking away and then got on a bike to begin riding away after the officer instructed him to stop so they could talk.

The officer caught him after he began pedaling, got him to the ground and handcuffed him. He asked the man why he did not follow his instructions, to which he replied that he had not done anything wrong, according to a report.

During the investigation, officers found 25 empty "dime bags" in the man's backpack. Later they found five packaged bundles of heroin in his pocket.

He was arrested and the case was turned over to the detectives. Information about the man's age or place of residence was not available.
