Police and Court Briefs: Drunk Driving Case Rescheduled, Diamond Earrings Stolen

Woods councilman court date adjourned

The preliminary hearing for Grosse Pointe Woods councilman Michael Koeste  charged with driving drunk in July was adjourned Wednesday in Grosse Pointe Shores Municipal Court. He will return to court Feb. 19.

Earring and prescription medication stolen

Grosse Pointe Farms police are investigating the reported theft of 1.25 carat diamond stud earrings from the 100 block of Beacon Hill. In addition to the $17,000 earrings, the homeowner stated she was missing Vicodin pills. According to a report, the only people with access to the home was the cleaning service.

Tossing carts

Two Grosse Pointe Park teens were arrested Jan. 11 after police were called for juveniles reportedly throwing shopping carts off the parking structure at Henry Ford Medical Center - Cottage, and nearly struck an elderly passerby. When police searched the boys, they found the 16 year old had an apple fashioned into a marijuana pipe, and the 15 year old had marijuana. The boys were arrested and turned over to their parents. 

Identity stolen

A 49 year old Grosse Pointe resident reported Jan. 14 that someone went into a Target store and opened an account with Verizon wireless. According to a report, the suspect got three phones, but they were never activated. 

Stolen iPad 

Grosse Pointe Woods police are investigating a report of an iPad 2 stolen from Grosse Pointe North High School.
