on Mack Avenue in will be hosting an "under new ownership" event on its new outdoor dining patio today and Saturday as part of a celebration related the change in ownership.
The new owners, Niko Ahee and Dion Blumentritt, acquired the location in early May. They own four other Subways, making this their fifth location. The others are the in the City of Grosse Pointe across the street from , one in Harper Woods and two downtown, one of which was recently acquired.
Ahee and Blumentritt celebrated their newest location, which they've been remodeling since acquisition, Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with officials from the and Grosse Pointe Woods.
The owners believe this restaurant, 21020 Mack Ave., is a great location to add because of the amount of pedestrian traffic, they said. Ahee, of Grosse Pointe, and Blumentritt, of Harper Woods, said they enjoy owning locations within their community.
In addition to remodeling inside and reorganizing the seating to accomodate more diners, they added an outdoor patio with two wraught iron tables and chairs covered with umbrellas.
Thus far, they said, the feedback from customers has been positive about the changes they've implemented. Some of the staff was brought in from their other locations, they said.
Throughout Friday and Saturday, six-inch subs with a drink will be $2. There will be a prize wheel event in front of the store along with a Subway character.
