Chesterfield Township police are asking the public’s help in identifying a suspect shown on surveillance videotape stealing a Springfield semi-automatic 9mm handgun from Dunham’s Sporting Goods, 51328 Gratoit Ave. about 12:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, according to a news release.

The suspect, a white male, is believed to be 50 years old or older, bald and wearing a black waist-length coat and black jeans.

While employees were busy and away from the display counter, the suspect reached into the display case and took the gun, concealed it in the front of his jacket and left the store, the video shows.

Anyone who can assist police in identifying the suspect are asked to call the Chesterfield Police Department at (586) 949-2322 or Crime Stoppers at (800) SPEAK-UP.
