There's a chance of showers today, mainly after 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Otherwise, expect mostly sunny skies and a high near 83. In the evening, showers are likely with mostly cloudy skies and a low around 56.

The lowest reported gasoline price in the Northville area – according to DetroitGasPrices.com via  GasBuddy.com – is $4.07 per gallon. That price is reported to be available at the Sunoco station at Five Mile and Haggerty roads and the Mobil station at Six Mile and Haggerty roads. 3. Event

Boys from and the surrounding area in grades 1-5 are invited to learn more about Cub Scouts at the annual New Scout Rally. It will be held at 7 p.m. in the Amerman Multipurpose Room (MPR). 

4. This day in history

On this day in 1814, according to History.com, Francis Scott Key penned our national anthem, "The Star-Spangled Banner." It was written while Key watched the British storm Fort McHenry during the War of 1812.
