Orion Woman Injured in Crash; Teens Suspended After Fight and More Police News

A 22-year-old Lake Orion woman was admitted to McLaren Hospital in Pontiac after a one-car crash Nov. 18. Alcohol appears to be a factor.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office says the woman was the driver when, shortly after midnight, the car crashed at Whitfield and Edison in Pontiac. Witnesses said several people were ejected from the car.

Deputies located three passengers who had been ejected and the driver, who said she wasn’t injured. The three passengers, all Pontiac residents, were taken to McLaren and listed in serious but stable condition. The driver was arrested and a search warrant was obtained for a blood sample.

2 teens suspended after fight

Two 14-year-old students, one boy, one girl, were suspended from school after they got into a fight on a school bus Nov. 9. The two had words in the hallway after school, and the disagreement turned physical on the bus. According to the investigator’s report, the girl punched the boy in the eye; he then kicked her face and leg. They were both referred to Youth Assistance. At least one other student witnessed the altercation.

Neighbor accused of harassment

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a warrant for a Browning Drive resident on a charge of aggravated stalking.

A neighbor called police Nov. 17, saying the man was shining a spotlight into her windows, taking pictures of her family, watching them and yelling at them. The resident said the behavior had begun in 2010 as soon as she moved in and was only relieved when she got a personal protection order, which has since expired. A family member said the new round of incidents began after they moved their boat lift in order to comply with township ordinance.

Mail tampering

Residents on Highlander and Bayfield reported someone tampered with their mail Nov. 18. On both streets, mail was found strewn about the roadway that morning. One envelope found on the ground contained a shipping invoice but the merchandise was missing.
