Yesterday's trivia answer: The Mendoza Line is the term used for a .200 batting average in baseball. It is named after Mario Mendoza.

5. Scarecrows in Kellogg Park

Twenty-nine scarecrows are up in Kellogg Park.  Groups, businesses and families build and decorate a scarecrow in Kellogg Park to be on display through Halloween. Take a walk down Main Street to see them and look for our very own Patch scarecrow!

4. Show your P-CEP school spirit

Plymouth beat Canton on Friday night, but don't let that be the lone factor in deciding bragging rights! We're running a photo competition to show school spirit between Plymouth, Canton and Salem that will run through Canton-Salem's Oct. 19 game. Upload photos showing school spirit for bragging rights!

3. VP debate is tonight

The vice presidential debate is 9 p.m. tonight between Vice President Joe Biden and VP candidate Paul Ryan. Check the debate schedule here on Patch.

2. MDOT to have meeting in Canton about Ford Road, I-275 area

The  Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) invites the public to a second meeting 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday about the I-275 and Ford Road Area Traffic and Environmental Study and Evaluation. 

The meeting will be in the Summit on the ParkGrand Ballroom in Canton.

1. Great Lakes Regional Chili Cookoff is Sunday

The Great Lakes Regional Chili Cookoff is 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday in Kellogg Park in downtown Plymouth. Stop by to sample some chili and catch a glimpse of plenty of motorcycles. Awards are announced at 5 p.m. — we'll see if Plymouth-Canton Patch reader Tom Pardikes takes home top prize for his acclaimed chili!
