Five places to watch your favorite teams toss the pigskin.

Ready for New Year's? Where to Watch the Game

It's the end of 2011 and another football season for college teams, plus a few NFL games to watch, too. We've got the scoop on what you need to know to cheer on your team, including these places open on New Year's Day, so you can catch the Lions take on the Packers at 1 p.m.

4 Friends Bar & Grill

44282 Warren Road, Canton
Enjoy a steak or burger, bistro-type fare, as you watch the big game (or games) Jan. 1 or in the days following. They'll be open at noon New Year's Day, with the kitchen shutting down around 8 or 9 p.m., depending.

Bailey's Pub & Grille

1777 N. Canton Center Road, Canton
Bailey's Pub & Grille has plenty of televisions, traditional bar foods, a variety of beers, wines and mixed drinks. They'll be open regular hours Jan. 1: 11 a.m.-2 a.m.

The Bowery Grille & Pub

41275 Ford Road, Canton
The Bowery Grille & Pub has been around for years and they're still around to catch Jan. 1's (and beyond) game action. Open regular hours on Jan. 1, noon-2 a.m., stop in to cheer on the Lions, dine on burgers, seafood and more, and toss back a couple beers — or whatever your poison may be.

Hayden's Grill & Bar

39895 Ford Road, Canton
Cheer on the local teams at a local restaurant and bar. Dine on appetizers, salads, soups, sandwhiches, burgers, pasta, comfort foods and more. Several big-screen televisions are set up for viewing pleasure, and of course you can enjoy a beer or cocktail. On New Year's Day, Hayden's will be open noon-9 p.m.

TC Gator's

42775 Ford Road, Canton
Plenty of televisions, a variety of beer on tap, dishes that include burgers and Cajun chicken await guests who stop in for some fan fun. Great for a group or just a couple people watching a game, TC Gator's is open from noon-2 a.m. New Year's Day.

Order a beer or pop, wherever you may end up, grab a bite and cheer on your favorite teams.

And, of course we'd be remiss without mentioning the action that's coming up in the world of football:
