Restaurant Week Starts Today in Downtown Plymouth

There are 10 downtown restaurants participating in Plymouth Restaurant Week through Oct. 7, along with 10 retail stores that will also be offering discounts.

Restaurant Week Starts Today in Downtown Plymouth

The 10-day inaugural  Plymouth Restaurant Week starts today in downtown Plymouth. The event showcases 10 of downtown Plymouth's restaurants new and old in the community.

Participating restaurants will offer three, four, or five-course meals at discounted prices between $15 and $35 per person.

"Our goal is to bring people from outside to see what a great town we have," said Landon Garrett, co-owner of Ironwood Grill and Restaurant Week liaison.

He said the event has been in planning for two months and the idea came from other restaurant week events that take place in Detroit

The 10 participating restaurants are: Compari’s on the Park, E.G. Nick’s, Fiamma Grille, Ironwood Grill, Nico and Vali, Panache 447, Penn Bar & Grill, The Sardine Room, Sean O’Callaghan’s and Zin Wine Bar & Restaurant.

"Those were the ones who chose to be involved," he said. "It'll grow as the years go by. We wanted at least eight and we ended up with 10."

Added Bonus from Retailers

Garrett said there are 10 retail stores that were invited to piggyback off Restaurant Week.

"Real Detroit Weekly, who worked with the restaurants, put this promotion together," said Teri Allen, part-owner of Dearborn Jewelers of Plymouth, which is offering promotions during Restaurant Week.

"Our offer is $50 off a $250 purchase or more," she said. "Each one of these stores' offers is slightly different."

The other participating stores are Jill Andra Young Photography, Sun & Snow, TranquiliTea, The Candy Trail, Creatopia Pottery, Hands On Leather, Sideways, Forest Computer Solutions and Merle Norman Cosmetics.

"This is kind of the first time they're trying to do a partnership with retailers and the restaurants," she said.

Allen said the promotions will be passed out to participants of Restaurant Week with their food bill and will be good until Nov. 7.

"The whole idea of Restaurant Week is to reach way beyond just this community," she said. "If people come and enjoy their dining experience, there's another reason to come back here and shop and experience some of the unique stores we have."

No tickets or passes are required for Restaurant Week and diners can participate as often as they like during the 10 days. Reservations are also not required but encouraged.
