Incident occurred behind on River Walk on Monday night.

2 Teens Robbed at Gunpoint Behind Library

Two teen-agers were robbed at gunpoint on the River Walk* behind the this week, according to a report released Friday.

The couple, a 17-year-old girl and 18-year-old boy from Shelby Township, told police a man approached the couple on the walkway around 10:45 p.m. Monday, showed a handgun and demanded money, according to the report.

The man received $25 from the couple before fleeing; no one was injured, the report stated.

An Oakland County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit was called to track the suspect, who was not found.

The suspect is described by police as a white male clean-shaven with bushy eyebrows and short brown hair, 20-30 years old and wearing a dark shirt, jeans and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with information can contact the Rochester Police Department at 248-651-9621.

* An earlier version of the story incorrectly stated the incident happened on the Paint Creek Trail. The trail actually ends west of the library; the River Walk connects to the trail near Rochester Municipal Park.
