3 Suspicious Car Fires in 4 Days Within 4 Blocks
In one case, flames scorched the vinyl siding of a home and the family was evacuated.

Royal Oak investigators are looking into three suspicious vehicle fires that occurred within a four-block radius in a four-day period.
The fires occurred between Monday, Nov. 23, and Thursday, Nov. 26, according to a statement.

The initial investigation showed the fires originated from the passenger compartment of each vehicle.
Two fires occurred early Monday morning, the first at 3:08 a.m. in the 900 block of Whitcomb, and the second at 3:24 a.m. in the 1100 block of Bauman. Both vehicles were parked on the street. The fires were quickly extinguished and no one was injured.

At 2:38 a.m. Thursday, firefighters were called to the 600 block of Millard. The vehicle, which was parked in the driveway, was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at the scene.
Occupants of the house were evacuated to a safe area. No one was injured, but the heat from the flames damaged the vinyl siding on the house.
The Royal Oak Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, the Royal Oak Fire Marshal and the Oakland County Arson Investigation team are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact Royal Oak Police Lt. David Clemens at (248) 246-3456.
