The next time the Hornets swim at EMU, they'll be competing for a state title.

Hornets Swim at Eastern Michigan University

Saturday's Michigan Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association was held at Eastern Michigan University, in the same pool that will host the state championship meet in November.

Before Saturday's meet, swim and dive coach Todd Brunty said he wanted his girls to become familiar with the Jones Natatorium so they know what to expect when the big day arrives.

Judging by Saturday's results, the Hornets should be ready.

Saline captured all three swim relays during the unscored event.

Maddy Frost, Cristina Czyrka, Emily Lau and Kate Rogers took first in the 200-yard medley relay, finishing in 1:48.

The Hornets captured first in the 200-yard freestyle. This time it was Frost, Rogers, Czyrka and Nikki Flynn.

The Hornets also won the 400-yard freestyle in 3:34.78. Swimming for the Hornets were Emily Lau, Flynn, Rogers and Frost.

Saline also had some top 10 finishes in the individual events.

In the 100-yard freestyle, Maddy Frost was fourth (53.82) and Nikki Flynn was fifth (54.04).

In the 100-yard breaststroke, Czryrka placed fourth (1:08.91) and Sammy Richart was sixth (1:09.22).

Flynn took fourth in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing in 23.76.

Emily Lau was fifth in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing in 59.07.
