Burr Elementary School student leaders take the pledge
Twenty more added to Burr's National Elementary Honor Society roster

A new group of Burr Elementary student leaders have taken the pledge. More 20 students were added to Burr’s National Elementary Honor Society at a special ceremony in December.
“This is our way of honoring our Bulldogs for academic achievement and exemplary behavior,” principal Mike Hardy said.
One of the first elementary honor societies in the area, the Burr program recognizes students for scholarship, responsibility, leadership, service, citizenship and character.

Chapter activities this year include meeting with junior and senior high school National Honor Society members to learn more about responsibility, providing five hours of community service and raising $250 for the Burr Scholarship Fund through an Election Day bake sale.
The group is also coordinating a hand-on lesson for students through the Detroit Institute of Arts. Chapter advisors are Melissa Gronzo and Christine Henry.
