Golfers took to the links in August for the annual and raised $27,500 for Wigs 4 Kids.

The event, held at Gowanie Golf Club, sold out two weeks before the outing and had a record number of golfers.

"This event was the most successful the GTJ Foundation has ever held," said Brandon T. Johnson, foundation president, in a release. "We are extremely gratified with the support and especially with the outcome. Wigs 4 Kids is a great organization with a great mission of helping kids and we are very happy to support them."

A record 144 golfers took part in the outing, which had 44 hole sponsors and attracted nearly 200 attendees to the dinner following the event.

"We were so warmly received by the Johnsons and GTJ Foundation - they embraced and welcomed us into their family," said Maggie Varney, CEO and Founder of Wigs 4 Kids in a release. "We were blown away by the amount of funds raised and generosity of the GTJ Foundation and the Community."

A check with the proceeds will be presented to Varney at Sept. 14.
