St. Clair Shores Makes List of Michigan's 50 Safest Cities

Where’s one if the safest places to live in Michigan?

St. Clair Shores, which ranked 37th on the list of Michigan’s 50 safest cities released Wednesday the national security organization SafeWise.

Here’s why:

“Situated northeast of Detroit on the west bank of Lake St. Clair is the sizeable city of St. Clair Shores. This town has a rich history that includes direct connections to Detroit’s vibrant music scene, championship high school hockey dating back decades, and the longest running pageant as a member of the Miss America Organization.

“Visitors and residents come to St. Clair Shores to spend time along its 'Nautical Mile,' a one-mile stretch along Jefferson Avenue brimming with retail shops, marinas, restaurants, and other local attractions. Because of its location, St. Clair Shores has often been referred to both as the Gateway to the Great Lake as well as the Boating Capital of Michigan. Its low crime rates, with no reported murders or manslaughters in 2012, make settling down in this waterfront city an easy choice.”
