Soroptimist International of Trenton 2014 awards banquet
For their ambition and contribution to society, five local women were recognized with monetary awards from the Soroptimist International of Trenton Area, which is a service organization of hard-working women dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls.

Terry Grahl donated her $500 award to her Enchanted Makeover organization.  The Audrey Seay nursing scholarship was given to Brownstown's Fatima Rudd, who attends Wayne State University. Kourtney Payne of Carlson High School won the Violet Richardson award for her volunteer work in Red Page Ministries.  The Women's Opportunity Award winner is Carie Jacobs, who is completing her teaching degree at UM-Dearborn.   Benita Robinson, who is majoring in sociology and Women's and Gender Studies at UM-Dearborn, won the local, district, and regional Virginia Wagner award.  These notable women are to be commended.
