West Bloomfield churches have dozens of services planned for Holy Week.

Need to Know: Easter, Good Friday Services

Following is this year’s schedule of Good Friday and Easter services across West Bloomfield:

  • Good Friday: St. Mark's Lutheran Church plans a chief service with Psalmody, the Passion from St. John, and Prayer at noon, followed by Tenebrae Vespers (Service of Darkness) at 7 p.m.

  • Easter: An opening procession with choirs and bells, followed by a gospel procession at 9:30 a.m. Breakfast follows, with an Easter egg hunt for children at 11:45 a.m.

  • Good Friday: Covenant Baptist Church plans a service at 12:15 p.m.
  • Easter: An Easter breakfast at 9:30 a.m., followed by an egg hunt for children. Sunday School will take place at 8 p.m. in addition to a worship service at the same time.

  • Good Friday: Led by Timothy A. Holzerland, Lutheran Church of the Shepherd King plans a worship service at noon, followed by the gospel according to St. Matthew at 7 p.m.

  • Easter: An Easter breakfast at 8:30 a.m., followed by a worship service at 10 a.m.

  • Easter: Pine Hill Congregational Church has an Easter celebration planned for 10 a.m.

  • Good Friday: Holy Spirit Lutheran Church plans a service at 7 p.m.
  • Easter: An Easter breakfast and egg hunt at 9 p.m., followed by a service at 10 a.m.

  • Good Friday: Sylvan Lake Lutheran Church plans a worship service at 7 p.m.
  • Easter: Breakfast served by the men at 8:30 a.m., followed by a worship service with the Nagy Harp and Flute Duo at 10 a.m.

  • Good Friday: Led by the Rev. Paul Thwaite, the congregation of Orchard Lake Community Church, Presbyterian will travel to Orchard United Methodist Church, 30450 Farmington Rd., in Farmington Hills, to worship at 12:15 p.m.
  • Easter: Worship services at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
