Today the Oakland County Bar Foundation (OCBF) announced it has raised $260,290 from its 15th Annual Signature Event held on April 25 at Oakland Hills Country Club. The money raised from the event will further the Foundation’s mission of promoting the delivery of quality legal service to the public through its community outreach and grant programs.

The sold-out gather of 400 guests comprised of local lawyers, judges, other legal professionals and OCBF supporters came together for the event, which is the OCBF’s most significant source of fundraising.

“Raising more than a quarter-million dollars in one night is a great accomplishment for our foundation,” said OCBF President Daniel D. Quick. “Our supports and sponsors have really risen to the occasion and demonstrated their commitment to making legal services available to residents throughout Oakland County.”

Since 2002, the OCBF has contributed more than $1.5 million in funds to support a variety of local programs that serve the citizen of Oakland County by providing legal aid and promoting legal education. The goal of these programs is to increase the public’s understanding of the law, legal system and their legal rights, educate them on the role of lawyers in our society, and improve the accessibility and affordability of legal services.

Previous beneficiaries of OCBF funding include Beaumont Hospital Legal Aid for Children, Family Law Assistance Project, Michigan High School Mock Trial Tournament, The University of Detroit Mercy Mobile Law Office, and many others.

Oakland County Bar Foundation is a partner of the Oakland County Bar Association, a professional organization with more than 3,100 members, based in Bloomfield Hills. To learn more about both organizations visit OCBA.org.
