Holly Man Arrested After Home, Lawns Damaged in White Lake

The following information was supplied by the White Lake Township Police Department. Arrests and charges do not indicate convictions.

Holly Man Arrested After Home, Lawns Damaged in White Lake

A 25-year-old Holly resident was arrested during the early morning hours Monday after police say he towed a dead tree behind his Ford pickup truck, causing extensive damage to lawns, a home and other items along the roadway.

Lt. Adam Kline said several residents on the 6000 block of Heathwood called police at 3:45 a.m. Monday after witnesses say they saw a truck recklessly drag a large, dead tree down the roadway.

According to the report, the tree struck a home, a lamp post, speed limit signs, landscape barriers and damaged several lawns along Heathwood. Kline said the damage estimates currently exceed $1,600. The tree eventually broke free of the chain towing it and was left near the roadway.

When police responded to the area, a truck fitting the description was stopped by police. The report states that the driver denied any responsibility for the destruction, but witnesses positively identified the truck as the one involved, and, according to the report, a chain with drag marks was found in the vehicle.

The driver was arrested and is currently being lodged in Oakland County Jail pending charges.

White Lake Woman Arrested in Farmington Hills

A 27-year-old White Lake woman faces narcotics possession charges, after a vehicle in which she was a passenger was stopped just before 6
p.m. Friday, because she wasn't wearing a seatbelt and the driver cut off another vehicle in the area of M-5 and Drake in Farmington Hills, police say.

According to a Farmington Hills police report, officers found marijuana, a prescription pill, a piece of folded plastic with suspected heroin and hallucinogenic mushrooms when they searched the vehicle. The woman told police she had a medical marijuana card and prescription for the pill, but couldn't produce them.

The woman's young son was asleep in the vehicle, and the child was left in the custody of the driver, who was ticketed for not carrying a driver's
license, having an expired license and a vision obstruction hanging from the rear view mirror, the report states. In addition to the drug charges, the woman was ticketed for not wearing a seatbelt.

Laptop Taken in Breaking and Entering

Police are looking for the person responsible for a breaking and entering on the 4000 block of Navarra.

According to the report, someone climbed up to the second story window of a detached garage, cut the screen, entered the garage and took a Mac laptop. The laptop is estimated to be worth $2,500.

Kline said a flashlight was left behind by the intruder. Currently there are no suspects, but the incident remains under investigation.
