Man Steals Purse Outside Highland's Wiggles & Giggles Pre-School

Man Steals Purse Outside Highland's Wiggles & Giggles Pre-School

Police at the Highland Oakland County Sheriff Substation are searching for the man suspected of breaking into a car and stealing a purse at 8:01 a.m. Sept. 24 at Wiggles & Giggles Pre-school, 1131 White Lake Road, according to a police report. 

A parent left her car unlocked in the parking lot with her purse and lunch on the seat and walked her son into the building, the report said. She returned in a few minutes to her car to see that her purse and lunch were missing from the front seat, according to the report.

Another parent had observed a possible suspect acting strangely and watched him jump into his car and leave northbound on Milford Road, the report said. He said he saw a male standing between two cars, one of which was the victim’s, acting strangely and moving quickly, the report said. He described the subject’s car as a Chevrolet Cavalier four-door, gray or silver in color with rust and dirt, according to the report. 

The woman’s purse was a black leather Coach purse and had a wallet with $30 in cash, debit cards, credit cards, a checkbook, her driver’s license and keys, the report said. The case remains open.

$500 Laptop Missing from Highland Home

A Highland woman reporter her laptop stolen from her home sometime before Sept. 29 at the 500 block of Fisher Road, according to a police report. She said she last saw her laptop Sept. 28 and that it was in her living area, the report said. The woman said she doesn’t lock her doors, according to the report. The Samsung laptop is valued at $500, and the case is still open, the report said.
