The Pan Asian Dance Festival was held at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center on Sunday, featuring traditional and modern dances. Ethnicities represented at the festival were Hmong, Karen, Indian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese.
Three judges critiqued the dance groups in two separate categories, traditional and modern.
Motion Crew, a Hmong male hip-hop group, took first place in the modern division, and Nkauj Ntxuam Dej, a Hmong female group won the traditional division with a performance that hastened the pace of traditional Hmong dances. The group Minnesota SunShine won the audience award.
