Eagan High School's winter drumline, which has earned 15 state championships in the last 20 years, will be under new direction this year, according to an announcement released by the high school.

Nate Zoellner, a graduate of Eagan High School and a business professional in St. Paul, will replace Stephen Collins as the drumline director. Zoellner has been working with various drum lines in the metro area for 13 years, according to the announcement.

Collins, who announced his decision to step down in May, had been involved with the drumline since 2005 as several roles, including positions as visual design director and head director. His decision to hand over the reins was driven by his need to focus on family and his own full-time job, Collins said.

"I'll miss the creativity that we got to do with it, and I will miss those kids and those parents," Collins said. "Those are good folk."
