Syrian Sniper Caught on Camera Wearing Cooper High Sweatshirt

LiveLeak, a video outlet for stories around the globe, has a clip of a Syrian sniper donning, of all things, a Cooper Hawks sweatshirt.

Syrian Sniper Caught on Camera Wearing Cooper High Sweatshirt

A video clip of a Syrian sniper, who almost gets sniped himself, sporting what is apparently a Cooper High School sweatshirt is now making regional news.

The clip, posted recently by LiveLeak.com shows a wide shot of a Syrian community, where a battle between Free Syrian Army rebels and the government's army is taking place.

The shot comes inside, where a man with a high-powered rifle, wearing a dark sweatshirt, is firing down on the scene below.

A while later in the video, which is just under a minute and a half long, a wide shot shows the sniper is wearing a sweatshirt that reads "Cooper Hawks."

According to a Minneapolis Star Tribune article released Tuesday, the school does believe it's one of theirs:

A still photo from the video was sent to Robbinsdale Cooper for verification, and Tim Palm, who handles the Cooper Hawks’ apparel needs, said that while the image is not that clear, the sweatshirt looks like one of theirs.

A shot fired into the building creates some excitement for the sniper and his cameraman, but both escape injury.

As of Tuesday morning, the video had been viewed more than 614,000 times, and embedded nearly 165,000 times.
