UPDATE: All Lanes of Interstate 35 Reopen Following Fatal Crash UPDATE: All Lanes of Interstate 35 Reopen Following Fatal Crash

UPDATE 5:30 P.M.—All three lanes of southbound Interstate 35 just north of County Road 46 in Burnsville have reopened, nearly three hours after a fatal crash occurred in the vicinity.

At 5:10 p.m., a Minnesota Department of Transportation traffic camera pictured several Burnsville Police cruisers and a fire truck exiting I-35. Several MnDOT dump trucks were parked on the west shoulder of the freeway for several minutes before leaving.

Traffic near the 2:29 p.m. crash was reduced to one lane.

MnDOT cameras pictured rush-hour traffic backed up to at least 110th Street on southbound I-35W. Heavy traffic could be seen on southboud I-35E north of the Burnsville split.

Traffic cameras did picture a number of law enforcement vehicles parked on the shoulder of Buck Hill Road, apparently near the point where the 1992 Toyota Camry involved the crash left the road, rolled down the embankment and landed on I-35.

Minnesota State Patrol and Burnsville Police continue to investigate the crash.

Patch will update this story.
