The North Star Boys' Choir won silver and bronze medals at the 2012 World Choir Games. The choir won the silver medal in the Children's Choir category and the bronze medal in the Barbershop category.

A nonprofit organization, based in Germany, called INTERKULTUR organizes the Games every two years and compares the competition to the Olympics. The organizers call it a venue where choirs from around the world can come together in peaceful competition. Participants in the 2012 World Choir Games came from 64 countries.

This year the competition occurred in Cincinnati, Ohio from July 4 to July 14. The North Star Boys' Choir competed on July 12 and 13.

The choir began in 2011 and consists of boys aged 8 to 14. Directors Francis D.C. Stockwell and Craig Carmody-Anderson lead the group.
