Watch: Dakota Pipeline Protesters Hang Banner at U.S. Bank Stadium
Dakota Access Pipeline protesters climbed up rafters at U.S. Bank Stadium during the Minnesota Vikings game and hung a "Divest" banner.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Two Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) protesters were arrested Sunday after they climbed up the rafters at U.S. Bank Stadium during the second quarter of the Minnesota Vikings game and hung a banner. The banner read, "Divest," "No DAPL" and featured a U.S. Bank logo.
Stadium officials subsequently began clearing fans out of the seats below the rafters. Minneapolis fire said on Twitter at 2:29 p.m. Sunday that it initiated a technical rescue operation to get down two people who were hanging from the rafter.
Fire crews safety retrieved the protesters following the conclusion of the game. Minneapolis police then arrested the two DAPL protesters, a man and a woman, KARE 11 reported.

Dakota Access Pipeline protesters have called on both President Barack Obama and President-elect Donald Trump to halt construction of the pipeline, which runs through North Dakota. Members and supporters of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe believe the pipeline threatens Standing Rock’s water supply and will destroy ancient burial sites, places of prayer and other significant cultural artifacts of the tribe.
Since late last year, "no DAPL" demonstrators have protested various financial institutions based across the nation that protesters say have ties to the pipeline's construction. In December, protesters entered Wells Fargo's Minneapolis offices and began blocking employees on their way to work.
