Oakdale Police Explorers: It's Time to Help Some 'Tots'

Oakdale Police Explorers will be participating in the "Toys for Tots" program during the Christmas season.

Oakdale Police Explorers are reaching out to the community to help spread the joy of the Christmas season by giving to those in need. The Police Exploreres is a group of young people ages 14 to 21 who are considering law enforcement as a future career.

Residents who wish to donate may deliver a new, unwrapped toy to Oakdale City Hall any time between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. starting Nov. 20. Oakdale Police Explorers will be on site between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday beginning Nov. 20 to assist with collection.

Residents who are considering donating charitable gift are encouraged to consider underserved age groups, including infants and teen-agers. Any gift cards donated will be used to purchase toys, but will not be distributed as "gifts."

The Oakdale Police Explorers will collect toys through Dec. 18 and will deliver the "Toys for Tots" gifts to the KARE 11 News Station in Golden Valley that evening where the celebrated delivery will be televised on the 10 p.m. broadcast.
