Top Christmas Gifts for Mom & Dad You Can Find Locally

The holidays can be a stressful time. Let Patch help you brainstorm ideas for gifts! Your parents: they brought you into this world; the least you can do is get them a nice gift for the holidays.

Top Christmas Gifts for Mom & Dad You Can Find Locally

It can be difficult to know what to get your mom and dad, because it really does seem like they have everything. Here are a few ideas to get you started—and keep you close to home.

For Mom

If you’re looking to create a new gift-giving tradition (and make Christmas shopping a bit easier in years to come), consider getting Mom an Amore & Baci bracelet at Richfield's long-time jewelry store, .

“You can start to build a bracelet and then add on for different occasions,” said owner Jennifer Bornholdt. “Or, you can wear [the beads] independently on a necklace or bracelet.”

If you’re on a tight budget, gather the siblings and you can each pick out a bead for her. The result is a beautiful and thoughtful bracelet that she can have as a keepsake for many years.

If you don't want to go the jewelry route, always has great stuff for the mom who loves making her space her own. From yummy scented candles to throw pillows to unique picture frames, there's something for every mom. In-house stylist Aimee Beatty suggests doing some mom research before buying a gift.

"Before you begin shopping, you want to determine if her style is 'glitzy' or does she lean towards pieces that are more streamlined and modern," she said. "Taking into consideration what she already owns will help guide you to the perfect gifts at Pier 1 Imports."

For Dad

Dads and Christmas lights; it’s a combination that strikes fear in the hearts of kids everywhere, who must await the inevitable, “Come here and untangle these lights,” or “Can you hold this ladder?” Give Dad a reason to throw those old string lights away and replace them with something with fewer knots.

“From the traditional Santa or snowman to the whimsical flamingos and 'sassy' deer, the possibilities are endless,” said spokesperson Jeff Abbot.

Sneak it under the tree early and he can be proud of his yard this year.

Even if you’re dad isn’t a disgruntled high school chemistry teacher, he will enjoy Season 1 of “Breaking Bad,” available at . It’s arguably one of the best shows on television, and if your dad likes tense moments and action-packed scenes, he will like “Breaking Bad.” Mom might even join him on the couch for this one. Oh yeah, and it's reasonably priced around $24.99.

No matter what gets wrapped this year, they are your parents, so they'll probably still love you. You could go the old-school route and make Mom a macaroni picture, but just remember, your "cute factor" exponentially diminishes each year.

Happy Shopping!
