Man's Body Found Along Saint Paul Highway: Police

The body was spotted by a group of people holding a memorial for a family member who had died on that same stretch of highway, police said.

SAINT PAUL, MN — Saint Paul police are investigating after a group of people found a man's body along Highway 61 Saturday morning, police confirmed to Patch Saturday night.

An officer was patrolling Highway 61 at Point Douglas Road when he was flagged down by the group, which was holding a memorial for a family member killed in a crash on that stretch of road a year ago, according to police.

While mourning together, the group found the body in the brush near the road, police said.

The area was secured with crime scene tape and homicide investigators began processing available evidence on the scene, according to police.

"This is all done to preserve any evidence that could help investigators determine the circumstances that led to this man’s death," police said.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner will identify the man and determine his exact cause of death, according to police.
