Santa, Holiday Shopping, Performances: Shakopee Weekend Planner

The youth performance of the Hobbit, Christmas tea, and the holiday fair at Shakopee Town Square Mall are just some of the holiday events happening this weekend in Shakopee.

Here are some of the event highlights:

Four Tickets to Christmas

Friday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 15 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Friendship Church is presenting the musical, which is about a family singing group. The family ends up spending Christmas away from their New York and dealing with relationships. Tickets are $5. To purchase tickets,  click here.

River Valley Theatre Company Presents The Hobbit

Friday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m.

RVTC and Shakopee Education have partnered together for the youth studio performance of The Hobbit. The one-hour production will show at  Shakopee West Junior High. Admission is $5, cash or check, at the door. 

Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair

Saturday, Dec. 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The fourth annual fair will be located at Shakopee Town Square Mall. Choose gifts from among the over 30 vendors, meet with Santa from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day, enjoy special performances, and more.

The Landing's 40th Annual "Folkways of the Holidays

Saturday, Dec. 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

The event brings to life past Minnesota River Valley holiday traditions. Activities include folk art performances, crafts, and trolleys pulled by horses.

The Wayzata's Women Chorus is the scheduled entertainment on Saturday, and the St. Paul Czech Dancers will perform on Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children and seniors.

Gingerbread and Holiday Tea

Saturday, Dec. 15 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The Scott County Historical Society is holding its Family Christmas Tea on Saturday. Participants will make their own gingerbread house and enjoy tea at Stans House. Registration is required with a fee of $8 for supplies.

Ongoing Holiday Events

Shakopee Chamber Holiday Food Drive

Leave food donations at the Shakopee Chamber of Commerce office. Donations benefit the  Community Action Partnership (CAP) Agency and will be accepted until 12 p.m. on Dec. 20.

Toys for Tots Shakopee Locations

Several Shakopee schools and local businesses are drop-off locations for  Toys for Tots donations. Unwrapped toys can be donated through much of December leading to Christmas. Exact dates vary by location.
