Southwest Minneapolis' hot pizza place could be about to get twice as popular.
Online foodie journal The Heavy Table reports that Pizzeria Lola, darling of the Armatage neighborhood, will be opening a new spot in Edina later this year. The shop will be filling up the former Franklin Street Bakery location at 44th and France, the site reports, and will be called Hello Pizza.
Lola's Owner-Chef Ann Kim has and since opening in Nov. 2010, and a spot on Food Network television show .
The Heavy Table quotes general manager Rachel Swan as saying:
“[Kim] wants to make Hello Pizza super-friendly – a communal gathering space, but with a lot of the core ideas from Lola,” Swan said. “In that neighborhood, there are a lot of walkers and young kids, so [at Hello Pizza] you can get a slice instead of having to order a whole pizza. A classic New York, East Coast slice. Just jump in after school, grab a slice and go. It’s really that sort of vibe.”
