Driver Escapes After Semi Darts Off Bridge, Sinks Into Lake

The crash happened on Highway 71 north of Sauk Centre. The semi was carrying animal parts, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

STEARNS COUNTY, MN — A semi driver is being treated for non-life threatening injuries at Sauk Centre Hospital after crashing into a lake Monday morning. The semi broke through a guardrail and went off a bridge into Sauk Lake, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The driver then smashed a window and escaped the cab as the semi sank. The incident happened on Highway 71 north of Sauk Centre at about 9:45 a.m.

The semi was carrying animal parts.
