Season Comes to an End for Orioles Hoopsters

The boys basketball team saw its season come to an end on Tuesday night, as the Orioles fell on the road to Wayzata in the opening round of the Section 6AAAA playoffs, 71-56.

The Orioles finish the season 14-13.

Junior Kashif Hayes led Park with 17 points—right in line with his regular season average, which was tops on the team. Fellow juniors DJ Pollard and Makhi Moore added 16 and 11 points per night, respectively. With those juniors coming back—and only two seniors graduating—the Orioles figure to have a solid squad next season.

Wayzata advances to play No. 1 seed Hopkins on Friday in the section semifinals. The section championship game will be next Tuesday, with the Class 4A state tournament beginning on March 21.
