Slick Roads Cause Tuesday Morning Crashes Near SLP

A rollover on Interstate 394 and a crash on Highway 169 added to the mess Tuesday morning.

Slick Roads Cause Tuesday Morning Crashes Near SLP

A day and a half after St. Louis Park and the metro area received almost a foot of snow, Tuesday morning commuters were still feeling the pain of a very slow drive into work.

"Double your expected commute and travel times," Lt. Eric Roeske of the Minnesota State Patrol told Patch, "and expect icy patches and slippery spots."

Slick roads caused havoc on Interstate 394 and Highway 169.

At 7:43 a.m., Minnesota Department of Transportation showed a rollover on westbound Interstate 394 near Louisiana Avenue. Roeske said the incident was a single-vehicle rollover without injuries, though it backed up traffic during rush hour.

A little after 8 a.m., a car crashed on southbound Highway 169 near Interstate 394.

On Dec. 10, Roeske confirmed that in less than 48 hours, Minnesota's winter weather caused 637 crashes, including one fatal crash.
