Woman Accused of Stabbing Her Mother in St. Louis Park

A St. Paul woman has been charged with stabbing her mother, a St. Louis Park resident with a pair of scissors.

Amber Marie Harris, 24, is charged with felony domestic assault, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

St. Louis Park police were called to a home on Louisiana Court on Jan. 1 to investigate a domestic disturbance, according to the complaint, signed by St. Louis Park Police Officer Dennis Hagen.

When they arrived, officers met with the victim, who said her daughter, Harris, had assaulted her with a pair of scissors.

The victim showed officers a cut on her wrist, and another woman who witnessed the assault corroborated the victim’s account.

Harris’ 6-year-old son told police that he saw “Mommy stab Grandma,” according to the complaint.

Harris was too intoxicated for police to obtain a “coherent statement,” the complaint said.

Harris remains in the Hennepin County Jail on a $20,000 bond. An omnibus hearing in her case is scheduled Feb. 5 in Hennepin County District Court.
