Crying at the Bank, Busted for Heroin

An Eden Prairie man faces a felony drug charge stemming from an August incident in Woodbury.

Crying at the Bank, Busted for Heroin

Employees at Wells Fargo in Woodbury called police in August after a man who appeared to be on drugs started crying when told he would not be able to withdraw money from his father’s account.

The subsequent investigation led authorities to charge Alex Robert Harrison, 27, of Eden Prairie, with felony drug possession.

According to the criminal complaint:

Bank employees called police Aug. 28 after refusing to let a man, later identified as Harrison, take money from his father’s account. He began crying when told he would not be able to do so.

Workers also overheard him on the phone talking to someone about needing money for cocaine and heroin.

An employee then saw him throw something into a sewer near the bank, located on Norma Lane.

Officers later found that the item was a hypodermic needle, which tested positive for heroin.

If convicted, Harrison faces up to five years in prison and a 10,000 fine.
