Damage By Golf Balls, Pit Bull Attack: Woodbury Police Blotter

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

August 9 

A Woodbury man called police when he woke up and found his yard was ripped apart by car tracks and a neighboring fence torn apart. The resident told police he heard a noise around 2 a.m. and watched a car turn sharply off Golden Eagle Trail.

Police were called to on a report of a man videotaping a juvenile in the dressing room. The man reportedly held a cell phone over the top of the dressing room wall and then left the store. Police were notified, however, they did not find a man matching the description given.

Police responded to a residence for a noise complaint. Two people were reportedly shooting pellet guns at a target in the back yard. Officers told them it was an ordinance violation and they agreed to stop.

Police were called to a Woodbury home on a report of theft. A woman claims several pieces of expensive jewelry were stolen from her home. They are valued at $5000. Police are investigating.

A man called police after his five-year-old pit bull attacked him. According to police reports, the owner’s dog lunged at him for no reason. The owner told police he stabbed the dog with a knife for his own protection. Police noticed bite marks on the man’s arms and legs. The dog was put down.

August 10

Police were called to a Woodbury residence for a theft call. A homeowner says someone took two ski ropes from the boat parked in the driveway.

Police were called to an attempted break-in on Cayenne Plaza Way. Woodbury homeowners said a window cover to the basement was removed and window kicked in. Police don’t believe anyone got inside. Police photographed the scene and talked with neighbors.

August 11

Police were called to the community pool on Maple Drive for a report of two males offering kids drugs. Police did not find the men described by witnesses.

August 13

A Woodbury resident called police to report someone damaging cars with golf balls. The caller said the problem has been going on for two weeks. Police noted damage to several cars along Parkview Lane, each with dented golf-ball size marks.

Police responded to a residential burglary on Oakwood Road. When a homeowner returned from work, damage was noticed on a front door. Police checked the residence before the homeowner went inside, finding no one. According to the report, a laptop, jewelry, credit cards and savings bond were taken.
