Frugal Family: Where to Find Deals in Woodbury

In this week’s Frugal Family column, we've searched our local sources to come up with great deals on hair, diapers and a potpourri of items at an upcoming garage sale.

1. ECFE Children’s Garage Sale

If you dig garage sales, mark Saturday, April 9, on your calendar. It’s the date of the Early Childhood Family Education Children's Garage Sale. It will run from 9 a.m. to noon at Cottage Grove Middle School. More than 100 consignors will be selling everything from kids’ clothes, sports equipment, and books to toys, strollers, and kids’ room decor. This is a fundraiser for Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) of South Washington County, so not only do you get some great stuff, but a portion of the proceeds goes to a local cause.

2. The Barbershop

This comes straight from the dome of the editor of Woodbury Patch. Come in with cash to The Barbershop in Woodbury—next to in —and get 50 cents off your haircut. It’s a great deal even without greenbacks: $11.50. Plus free peanuts!

Fantastic Sams is offering two in-salon specials through May. For $25, get a shampoo, two-step Ultimate Treatment deep conditioning, cut and blowout. The other in-salon special: $40 all-over color (prices vary for longer than shoulder-length hair). And for the guys, snag a coupon from GoKidsDay.com for a $20 Blend-the-Gray-Away treatment, and the next time, when you get a haircut, the treatment is free.

Deal: Kellogg’s cereal, bars and fruit snacks; Pop Tarts; Eggo Syrup; Cheez-It Crackers, Keebler cookies and crackers, $1.99 each when you buy five, limit five.

Good through: March 26

Deal: Jumbo packs of diapers are two for $16. Brands include Pampers Baby Dry, Swaddlers, Cruisers or Easy Ups; Huggies Little Movers, Snug & Dry, Little Snugglers or Pull-Ups.
