Woodbury Chamber Seeks Award Nominations, Plans Business Symposium

Nominate the city’s top citizen, business and educator; symposium set for early November.

Woodbury Chamber Seeks Award Nominations, Plans Business Symposium

The Woodbury Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday announced that it will begin taking nominations for top business, citizen and educator of the year.

Plans are also set for a small-business symposium later this fall.

Woodbury’s Best of the Best

The period to nominate Woodbury’s business, citizen and educator of the year is now open.

One individual in each category will be recognized for his or her “accomplishments, diligence, and contributions to the community” during the chamber’s annual gala, set for Jan. 25, 2013.

Recipients will be presented with an award, and a short film highlighting their achievements will be shown at the event.

“This is an excellent opportunity to recognize outstanding business owners, citizens, and/or educators for their contributions to the Woodbury community,” reads a release from the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce.

To vote, visit the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce website and click on the Business of the Year, Citizen of the Year or Educator of the Year link to download a form.

Once completed, send the forms to: Woodbury Chamber of Commerce, 6949 Valley Creek Road Suite 115, Woodbury, MN 55125.

“Your input is well appreciated,” the release says. “The Chamber Gala is a greatly anticipated event due to the continuous support and effort from the community to keep Woodbury growing and thriving.”

Small-Business Symposium

The Woodbury Chamber of Commerce’s small-business symposium is set for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at Globe University.

The event will focus on marketing, sales and technology, and will feature breakout sessions on social media and nonverbal communication, among others.

Tickets include the breakout sessions, hearing keynote speakers, a light breakfast and lunch.

“Whether you are new to the business world or a veteran, there are topics for everyone at every level,” reads a chamber release. “Our different marketing techniques will help you create the best, lasting relationship with your customers and make your business a success!”

There is a new rate for students, $35 (must have valid student ID).

Visit the organization’s website for more information.
